The Coast Road Cycle Challenge...

Due to significantly increased compliance and traffic management costs, even with highest rider participation ever this year, the financial resources will not cover it.

So it’s with much regret to tell you that this year’s event on 12th November will not go ahead. This decision has not been made lightly and comes at a great cost, but I know you share with me in the disappointment of not getting to ride the course.

We look forward to 2017 and the continued opportunity to cycle what is now classed as one of the top 10 stretches of road on the planet. The West Coast, or ‘the Coast’ as locals call it, is a wild place of rivers and rainforests, glaciers and geological treasures. ‘Coasters’ as the locals are known are a bunch of independent, self-reliant and hugely friendly, hospitable people. So saddle up and come take on the challenge, 100km or 45km it's your choice.

"Come ride the most spectacular...

...scenic cycle event in New Zealand."

Kerry Lacey-“To Phil and all his team, thanks for the great morning of cycle racing.
Awesome well run event...bring on next year.”

Sue & Ian Johnson-“Great job Phil- awesome ride and very well organised- ready for next year!”.
